Users can find data registered with GEON using the Search functionality in the Portal. Such data sets can be selected into a Data Integration Cart™ available in the myWorkbench portlet in the portal, and then jointly mapped or queried.
Here, “tools” refers to a set of packaged “applications” that may include datasets, modeling and analysis codes, and mapping and visualization software, which together serve a specific science needs. These tools can be found in the Portal. Currently, the set of tools includes:
Various software packages as well as Web services may also be registered with the GEON Catalog. An example of a software package is the GEON IDV (type “GEON IDV” in GEON Search). A number of Web services are available in GEON, e.g. a Web service for accessing IRIS data catalogs, a Web service for obtaining Moho data within a given bounding box, etc.
