Project: Chronos (Interactive Network of Data and Tools for Earth System History)

Research Goals: The Chronos project is working with the Earth science community to develop a dynamic, interactive and time-calibrated network of databases and visualization and analytical methodologies for sedimentary geology and paleobiology. The Chronos-GEON collaboration enables Chronos to leverage the various technologies and software being developed in GEON at SDSC, in particular, in the areas of data integration, GIS, visualization, portals, and Grid computing.
GEON PI Chaitan Baru is one of the PI’s of the Chronos collaborative project, which is led by Cinzia Cervato at Iowa State University.
