Collaborative Research: The Cenozoic History of the Western US – A Data Integration Strategy for Earthscope

Tasks 2004-2005:

• Princeton: Banana-donut kernels for short distance

• Princeton: P wave Amplitudes and phase data in frequency windows with inversion

• Princeton: Partitioned waveform inversion with banana-donut kernels

• Princeton: Modelarameterization software

• Oregon: Banana donuts for P waves

• Oregon: will make S-wave time picks from Deep Probe for PROFILE

• Oregon: will get S wave times for CD-ROM for PROFILE and everywhere else for 3D model

• Oregon & Rice will compile all the receiver functions for PROFILE

• Rice will provide constraints on crustal velocity and Moho for PROFILE

• Rice will make migration/waveform tomography images from PROFILE through 3D model

• Rice will be liason with GEON and develop ontology for seismic velocity models

• Northwestern will compile various groups of waveform fits (NA95, MOMA, Canada, those still to be fit, and separate the ones that constrain the western US from those that don't) and compute a matrix on a 15-km grid.
