INTERFACE (INTERdisciplinary alliance for digital Field data ACquisition and Exploration) is funded by NSF and managed by UNAVCO to help geoscientists in obtaining high resolution and precision, 3D surface data. INTERFACE provides a one-stop shop for users at any experience level to obtain instrumentation, software, and instruction in the collection of earth surface data by Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR).
INTERFACE is a collaborative research project partners include: University of Texas, Dallas, University of Kansas, Arizona State University, OpenTopography, and UNAVCO.
OpenTopography will be building upon our existing LiDAR distribution and processing capability to incorporate INTERFACE TLS topographic data and new processing tools.
More information on OpenTopography’s work related to the INTERFACE project and terrestrial LiDAR data will is available via the OpenTopography portal.
