WHEN
/ WHERE
The week-long Cyberinfrastructure Summer Institute for Geoscientists
(CSIG) will be held from August 16th - 21st, 2004, at the
San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) on the University
of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus. Sessions run all
day with breaks and meals provided throughout. Detailed
schedule information will be available on the Program
Information page.
LODGING
On-campus apartment housing will be available to CSIG attendees
free of charge. Apartments are equipped with two bedrooms.
Attendees choosing CSIG-provided lodging will be asked to
share an apartment with one other attendee.
If you
prefer to stay elsewhere, you may do so at your own expense.
Local hotel
information may be found on the SDSC Web site.
FOOD
On-campus meals will be provided to CSIG attendees free
of charge. Please indicate any special meal requirements
(vegetarian, Kosher, etc.) you may have on your initial
application form.
TRAVEL
Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements
to and from San Diego. Under special conditions, the organizing
committee may fund travel support. Such requests should
be sent to summerinstitute@geongrid.org
for consideration.
TRANSPORTATION
Driving
directions may be found on the SDSC public Web site.
Cloud
Nine Shuttle Service provides transportation to the
UCSD campus at $16pp one way.
Arrivals:
go to the transportation area at the airport and see the
transportation coordinator with the red coat, and ask
for the Cloud Nine Shuttle Service.
Departures:
IMPORTANT - You must call a Cloud 9 Shuttle at least 24
hours in advance of your departure flight at 1-800-974-8885.
